We’re excited after the Welsh Government’s announcement on Friday that we may soon be able to re-open to run some of our activities and events. Thanks for your enquiries and your support over the weekend, we can’t wait to welcome you back!
We’re open and raring to go – are you ready for your outdoor adventure?!
Axe throwing, archery and bushcraft activities for adults & kids in Bridgend. Book on to one of our scheduled events or book a private event for your group or household. Availability is limited, start planning your adventure today!
**update: Welsh Government guidance has now changed allowing us to expand the types of events that we can run. For the latest info, please see this blog post. Thank you**
To fit with new Welsh Government guidelines, we’ve adapted our event formats to run events for one household or extended household “bubble” at at time.
So this is aunique opportunity for you to book a private session with us with a dedicated instructor, until we can increase our event numbers and take group bookings again. We’re running events for couples, small families & extended household “bubbles” – so there’s something for everyone.
I usually joke with groups that I love archery & show them my tattoo 🎯
I do ♥ archery. But the reason behind having these arrows tattooed on my arm is a bit more than that. And feels relevant at the moment, so I thought I’d share with you…
There can be many reasons behind someone’s arrow tattoo and depending on their design. For me, as arrows can only go in one direction, they symbolise that we always have to keep moving forward. And although you have to first pull them back to release them (draw, in archery), just as we all have challenges and set backs that pull us back sometimes, all we can do is keep pointing and moving forward ➡
Several arrows together is a symbol of strength 💪and for me represents the key people I have around me.
With the challenges we’ve all faced and continue to face, I am finding this useful to keep in mind.
I hope you’re all staying safe, keeping well and looking forward, Rachel ♥
Come & join us for some bushcraft & archery fun in Bridgend with our autism friendly events.
We have experience working with children and adults on the autistic spectrum through our work with schools and community groups. We’d like to make our sessions more accessible. So we’re trialling some autism friendly bushcraft & archery events, which you can book on to individually. And we’ll make them a regular event if there’s interest and demand for them.
Events are 1.5 hours and tickets are £15. You can buy tickets on Eventbrite here:
Additional information about autism-friendly sessions
Who can come to autism-friendly sessions? These sessions are for anyone on the autistic spectrum who would prefer this session.
You do not need a diagnosis.
Sessions are for children aged 7+ and adults.
You are welcome to book tickets for siblings who are not on the autistic spectrum.
Can parents / carers / support workers come along?
Yes, we would encourage you to come along.
Children aged under 18 must have a parent / adult supervising them.
1 adult to supervise up to 3 children please.
Your role is to offer support rather than being there to participate. Tickets are charged for one participant and one person to accompany them (included free of charge)
What makes it an autism-friendly session?
Activities are carried out by instructors who have completed autism-awareness training.
Sessions are more structured and we keep noise to a minimum.
There will be space available within the woodland as “quiet areas” for anyone needing some time out during the session – no one is pressured to take part.
What is the environment like where activities take place? Activities take place in a private woodland in Bridgend (near Laleston)
It is quiet and not open to the general public.
We have a roundhouse shelter area to sit in, which will have a campfire.
Who can I contact for more information or with feedback?
